Fundraisers

In 2016, we performed at the Winter HAHs show to raise money for the Ottawa Distress Centre; we produced the second annual SHElarious, this time raising money for Cornerstone Housing for Women; and participated in an event to benefit the Canadian Improv Games.

In 2015, we donated prizes to and performed as part of the Let's Unlock Change campaign to raise money for the John Howard Society. We also produced SHElarious, an event that celebrated International Women's Day in March by featuring a lineup of local female comedians, songwriters and storytellers; all proceeds went to the Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women. We also took part in the annual Ottawa Theatre Challenge that raises money for the Actors Fund of Canada.

In 2014, we performed at fundraisers for Timeraiser in November, the Canadian Improv Games in September and two actors travelling across Canada in August.

Festivals

EFT produced the 2016 Ottawa Improv Festival. A group of EFT improvisers performed at Second City's Toronto Haroldfest in April 2016. EFT troupe Birds of Prey performed at the Big City Improv Festival in Toronto in October 2015. EFT's Chris and Leslie performed a slow two-man improv show at the 2015 Fresh Meat: DIY Theatre Festival. Two EFT troupes (Hey Fever! and the Urban Woodsmen) performed at the Ottawa Improv Festival in September 2014. The month before, EFT co-artistic director Chris Hannay performed in the inaugural East Coast Improv Festival in Halifax.
